Founded in 1991, the University of South Australia is an innovative, outward-looking university built on more than a century's experience as a leader in educating professionals and applied research.
UniSA is part of the influential Australian Technology Network (ATN), an alliance of five prominent universities from each mainland state. The ATN's aim is to help enhance Australia's social and economic wealth by creating, disseminating and applying new knowledge.
At UniSA we value world-class scholarship that meets the needs of the global community and solves real-world problems. We engage with industry and the professions in our teaching and research endeavours, so our graduates can gain professional experience and are immediately able to put this knowledge into practice.
Our Vision, Mission and Values statement, our graduate qualities, and our achievements encapsulate what we stand for as an institution and what we offer to students, staff and the wider community.
The Good Universities Guide has rated our MBA as 5-Star for 2009/2010. The rating is determined by the Graduate Management Association of Australia and was published in the 2010 Good Universities Guide in late August 2009. This makes our MBA one of the elite MBAs in Australia.
EQUIS
EQUIS Accreditation
In 2004 the Division of Business secured accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development under its European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). We chose to apply for EQUIS accreditation as the European system stresses things which are important to us, including internationalisation, diversity and links with the corporate world. This accreditation was renewed for another 3 years in 2007.
AUQA 2009 Audit
The Australian Universities Quality Agency is an independent, not-for-profit national agency that promotes, audits, and reports on quality assurance in Australian higher education. The AUQA audits are conducted regularly for all Australian universities and other institutions of higher education to provide public assurance of the quality of Australia's higher education providers and to assist in enhancing the academic quality of these institutions. The University of South Australia second AUQA audit was completed in October 2009.
The University of South Australia has emerged from its second national quality audit with strong commendations for the clarity of its vision, its energy, and its development of teaching, learning and research.

Top 100
In October 2009 the University of South Australian's IGSB was named in the top 100 world-wide for integrating social, environmental and ethical issues into its MBA program, positioning it as one of the best in the Asia-Pacific.
The ranking comes from an international survey 'Beyond Grey Pinstripes' which is undertaken by the Aspen Institute Centre for Business Education every two years to map the landscape of teaching and research issues pertaining to business and society.
The Aspen 100 ranking is the result of over 18 months of rigorous research - designing the survey, outreach to MBA programs around the world, data collection and analysis - looking at how well MBA programs incorporate social, environmental and ethical issues into the training of future business executives.

AFR Boss MBA Rankings
The results of the Australian Financial Review BOSS magazine's survey of MBA alumni were published in September 2009. This biennial survey invites alumni from the past three years to rate their experience with their MBA school. In the 2009 survey the IGSB's MBA program was again ranked in the overall top 10, moving up the rankings to 6th overall, from 7th in the 2007 ranking.
The survey indicated our alumni love their alma mater, like the approachable teaching staff and that they achieved pay rises as a result of this study. The IGSB's focus on quality is reflected in this improvement in ranking, as voted by our alumni.
